Tebing Keraton: Closer to the edge
It's such a common disease for people nowdays for having a strange feeling, like there's something...something incomplete when we were going somewhere especially the current most talked about place without checking in first on social media.People wouldn't believe if you said you've been there before but instead you got no pictures to prove it as evidences.
Yes, this kind of thing is already being first-come-first thing on our society i believed. Well may be if it was in Islam it would be an Obligatory. We can't blame society for got addicted to this social media life. Who does not like the free thing? can be used anytime, without any limitation, and again it can be used as one of a way to get money or goods through endorsing. Yes social media has changed our lives.
Instagram as one of the most popular social media nowdays i believed has become one of the revolutionary invention. Believe it or not indirectly it makes everyone dare enough to called them self as photographer with their own trend without thinking how much time or how big the efforts that a real photographer should gone through first to get entitled as photographer. Unlike the foreruner twitter which has the trending topics as a way of knowing what current hot issue, instagram presents it in the form of visual images. The more people who upload photos with the same object or concept means that is the current trend of instagram that everybody might should do if they wants to get entitled "people now days".
For couple months people on instagram was stunned by one of "instagram-able" place in Bandung. It is the Keraton Cliff or Indonesian would say Tebing Keraton ( Tebing = Cliff ). I did this must-done trip nothing but just for the sake of a photo for my instagram. It was located at Dago area in North of Bandung, if you are willing to visit this place personally i will recommend you to come earlier in the morning if you don't want to miss the sunrise and mist. But if you are not dare enough or might be can't leave your bed too early well a visit in the afternoon is fine.
If you choose to go in the morning let's say the best time would be at 4 AM, you must be very carefully because the road is not that friendly quite slippery and obviously creepy. You will feel extremely cold along the road that continues to climb in every meter without sun to warm you. And if you plan to make a visit in the late afternoon, well please try to not taking selfie and wefie or photograph too much unless you are ready to driving in middle of tall trees at night with rarely house to find. And one more thing, the only vehicle that can reach this place is a motorcycle. More gutz ?
And yes, you better make it on weekdays not weekend. Visiting Keraton Cliffs reminds me of my father's hometown actually with its rocky road with brown soil, the cold air that poke straightly to the lungs but felt refreshing, to the sounds and smells of cattle that are take turns to embrace our senses. Last night, me and three friends of mine didn't sleep at all. And today we leave around 4 AM because we lived fairly far from the south to north. Cold air and dark roads didn't fade our spirit away. Slowly but surely. Actually, not that slow, because we want to greet the sun with our camera that had been prepared. To be able to enjoy the fun of taking pictures in Keraton Cliff we were charged around IDR 18K. It was an entrance fee for IDR 5K, entrance tickets IDR 11K / person, an parking fee for IDR 2K.
"This is it ? Are you sure we are in the right place ?"
Was the first impression that came through my mouth. Back then, at glance i got no interest at all seriously. There were only a steep of cliff paved with brown soil that i found easily smudge our clothing. When took over more step to the edge of the cliff then finally my eyes catched a few stones that i recognize as most-used object with mountain scene completed by dramatic fog like in the movies as background.
"I think it all depends on the user's way taking the pictures"
That was my second impression. Lucky us this Keraton Cliff was still not to crowded. Our efforts paid off at least. There are only few busy visitors who dressed to much for such a place i bet, trying to get some selfie picture as good as possible. And finally we are also do not wanna miss our chance and immediately pulled out the cameras we carry. Here are some of the results of our photos that morning.

If you are visiting this place, you do not need to be over-dressed i mean at least it could keep you warm and please do not wear your best clothes just because you got such a scenery behind you. Believe me you do not want to ruin your best clothes with dirt.
